saturdays for us sometimes become the new sunday. we are super burned out from the week and just need a day to sleep in, get some coffee in cozy clothes, order take-out for lunch and lay down for a nap. and that's exactly what we did earlier today! well, i should preface it wasn't our original plan...a project we are working on was de-railed on account of it being freezing and the mta not working. what else is new?! ps - tyler is still currently sleeping...fyi. ;)
when i think about getting "cozy" i immediately think about jumping into a soft, oversized sweater, leggings, and fuzzy socks. by the way, let me launch into a quick blurb about my socks: the fuzzy socks i'm wearing i am OBSESSED with. i am going to provide the link and if you want to change your life you will buy them. i have had my fair share of fuzzy socks and these are by far the best! i bought tyler and my mom a pair and they love them just as much as me. i wish this was sponsored because i sound psycho, but, ya get what ya get. here is the link!
lazy days are also great for reading! i recently subscribed to the new yorker (i got this bomb deal... $6 for the whole year!). getting magazines in the mail takes me back to when i was in middle-school/high-school and i would get so excited when my teen vogue was waiting for me in the mailbox. there is just something about getting stuff in the mail (outside of bills) that is so perfectly sentimental.
the cover of the mag this issue is the best! the easter parade is coming!!!!!!!!
cozy = candles. one day i thought about how much i spend on candles a year...then i gave up because i started to get disgusted with myself haha. but who cares! they make me happy and it isn't breaking the bank. this paddywax saltwater and lily candle is one of my favorites.
IT SMELLS SO GOOD! the other reoccurring scent i love is the volupsa mokara candle. it was one of the first candles i bought post-adult life and i remember thinking it was such a splurge (because it was!). i used to work at rolling stone and right across the street was an anthropologie - so dangerous! so every now and then i would go over there on my lunch break and pick up the tiny mokara candle and some $5 cereal bowls because as an adult, you realize the secret to life is lots of bowls and things that smell good. ;)
find you someone who loves having a cozy/lazy day just as much as you!!
hahah! i should preface tyler does not wear his hat like this all the time. very important call out.
i'm definitely going to frame this one <3 look at that face!!
ok that's it! now we are going to figure out what to do for dinner so we can never leave our house - thank gawd for seamless.
